A blessed and happy Easter to you all! The Lord is risen!
This past week time has stood still in the Church. Each day is Easter Sunday and we will conclude the Octave of Easter this Sunday.
St Pope John Paul II gave this Sunday an alternative name – Sunday of Divine Mercy. It is the day that Jesus, on the night of his Resurrection breathed the Holy Spirit into the Apostles, giving them the power to forgive sins in His Name!
Baptism takes away all sins but as we grow we need to seek forgiveness in the Sacrament of Penance. The students at our two parish schools celebrated this Sacrament in Holy Week, many of you came during Lent. Please do not neglect this Sacrament during the rest of the year. Take the opportunity to seek the Lord’s mercy and forgiveness and heal relationships with God and our neighbour.
A reminder that the enrolments for the Sacrament of Confirmation close this Sunday 11th April 11.59 pm! We have 126 candidates ready to begin this important step in their life.
Remember Easter lasts 50 days until Pentecost 23 May this year. Save an Easter egg for that day.
